Schools work during the centenary of the First World War
During the centenary of the First World War, we collaborated with the University of Kent to support a WW1 in Schools Commemoration Project. This project engaged with 22 schools and 1,600 participants, 95% of which were non-selective. Over 90% expressed an increased interest in the First World War after taking part in the programme.
Working with schools on Walking with Ghosts
Since early 2022 we have been working with Folkestone schools on our new project Walking with Ghosts. This is a partnership with Imperial War Museum to create a new site-specific, multi-media artwork which will be live at Folkestone Harbour Arm between 11-14 November 2022.
Our school partners have been contributing to the project by undertaking primary research using the British Newspaper Archive and local archival resources. Associate Artist, Bille Penfold will also be running poetry workshops with students as part of the four-day artwork in November.
